The David Johnston–Lebovic Foundation International Experience Awards grant varying amounts, such as up to $2,500 for a one-term study experience, $2,500 to $5,000 for a one-term work or volunteer experience, and up to $10,000 for a two-term work or volunteer experience.
The International Master’s Award of Excellence provides $2,500 per term for a maximum of 6 terms.
Requirements for University of Waterloo Scholarships:
To qualify for scholarships at the University of Waterloo, applicants need to fulfill the subsequent conditions:

Eligible Nations: All Countries Worldwide
Applicants must maintain a commendable academic record (generally a minimum 70% average at the undergraduate level, and a minimum 75% average at the graduate level) to be eligible for these scholarships.
The candidates must be full-time students in the undergraduate or graduate program of any faculty who intend to engage in an international experience in Israel. This could include a minimally paid or voluntary international co-op work placement, a volunteer placement, an academic exchange, or a study term pertaining to academic prerequisites.
International students with a valid Canadian study permit who are enrolled full-time and subject to international tuition fees are also eligible.
These scholarships are typically awarded to students in research-based programs (thesis or major research paper).
Usually, these scholarships are granted to students entering the first term of their program (term 1.0).
Students are required to exhibit academic excellence as per the criteria set by the Faculty.
They must fulfill the academic progress standards of their program and should not have any outstanding probationary admission requirements.
This award can be received along with other internal or external scholarships (like UW Graduate Scholarship, OGS, etc). Note: scholarships are distinct from sponsorships - refer to the next point.
Typically, students should not be concurrently receiving sponsorship from foreign governments or agencies (e.g., China Scholarship Council, Libyan sponsorship, etc) or be entirely or partially self-funded beyond the Faculty's minimum support levels.
Students who are covered under the current IMSA program are ineligible for an IMAE nomination. However, a student previously awarded an IMSA for a completed master's degree can be nominated for an IMAE.
Students will automatically be considered for this award based on their admission application. Departments and/or the Faculty will establish their own internal process for selecting recipients, adhering to the eligibility criteria and allocation.
Faculties may impose more stringent eligibility criteria as deemed appropriate.
Procedures for obtaining the David Johnston–Lebovic Foundation International Experience Award scholarship:
Prospective candidates are required to enroll in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at the university. Upon enrollment, applicants can find the application on their respective forms pages.
As part of the application, candidates must include a personal statement that corresponds to the application form. Additionally, all applicants must provide proof of their English language proficiency that fulfills the minimum requirements for admission.
For the application process for the International Master’s Award of Excellence scholarship, please adhere to the following instructions:
Candidates will be automatically considered for this award based on their application for admission; therefore, there is no need for a separate scholarship application.
The scholarship recipients will be selected by the respective Departments and/or Faculties.
